I here because I am going through Froi withdrawals and I’m trying to find someone, somewhere, to tell me I don’t have to wait until 2013 (USA) to find out what happens. Oh boy, these books have risen to the top of my pile. So well done and intense and characters done so well, so real. Well, you said it all in your great review.

Michelle, I cannot wait for Quintana. Marchetta has been blogging about it (quintana) a bit; nothing overly spoilery, IMHO, unless someone wants to be a total blank slate. But some interesting things , like photos of real world places that are the inspiration for certain places in the books.

Sarah, yes, I agree, much like Turner’s series which is so good. I’d hand both series to any adult reader who was into Game of Thrones.

Yes! I thought I loved FINNIKIN, but FROI took it to a whole other level. I so cannot wait for QUINTANA. These books remind me a lot of Megan Whalen Turner’s brilliant Thief series.

I just finished this last night and felt terribly lonely after I turned the last page. I miss all of the characters already. How will I wait another year to find out how they’re doing? HOW??

Thanks for articulating why this book is so wonderful in your review. Pretty much all I could say when I finished was, “Ahhhhhh Melina Marchettaaaaaaaaa,” which doesn’t really get things across quite as well.
