School Library Journal Battle of the Books Round 1, Match 1: Amelia Lost v. Anya’s Ghost. Judge: Matt Phelan

My prediction: Amelia Lost. And guess what?
AMELIA WON, BABY.

Yes, as I predicted guessed, Phelan picked Amelia Lost.

Phelan spoke highly about both books. What was it that pushed Amelia on to the next round?

“Amelia Lost succeeds in what it sets out to do, but for this reader it also manages to do more.”

It manages to do more. What a great way to describe the magic of the reader / book interaction.
