I am reading it right now and I am in just in awe of Robin’s writing. So, so good!!

I didn’t know the next two books are about other characters – I love that! You don’t see it much in YA, and it makes me really excited for the next two books.

I also thought this book was fantastic — delivering the premise and much more. I love how Ismae navigated the gray, fuzzy areas between her instincts and what she was trained to believe and do, and I especially loved how the romance never overshadowed the political plotline. (Though this book totally brought the swoon. Not since Prince Brigan in FIRE did I so swoon for a fictional character.) That I’m looking forward to the companion novel is an understatement!

I absolutely loved this book! In fact I got almost 400 pages in and discovered that the library copy I had was misbound and repeated the previous 32 or so pages. When I realized this there may have been an actual shriek! Then I had to wait for them to reorder a good copy – sheer torture such that I considered going to buy a copy just for the last 100 or so pages. Cannot wait for Sybella’s story!

I’m totally there with you on prefering series with a different main character for each book. It’s way more satisfying. I’m really looking forward to reading this book now.
