Sarah, while I understand that they didn't want to use a cover that says "historical fiction," I think this one doesn't entice the readers who would be enticed.

Donna, I think you absolutely nailed it on the cover -- it was a big reason (well, besides the size of my TBR pile) I never gave this one a try, but I never thought through exactly *what* I didn't like about it. Now I realize it looks like one of the masses of vampire/fairy books.

Donna, let me know what you think1

Charlotte, best I can find thru a quick Google search is by this time book ownership for this class was much more common. http://www.folger.edu/html/exhibitions/thys_boke/curatornotes.asp So the question becomes (and this I couldnt figure out thru google) is when tokens would have been put in books? Why wouldn't they?

It sounds like a good one, and I might well look out for it!

But I can't help but be worried by a very petty little worry about the quote viz pressing flowers into a book--I am having a hard time imagining that books would be used thus in Tudor England! I hate it when my brain fixes on such a small detail, casting a pall on the whole book.

You know, I had no idea what this book was about! The cover feels more paranormal to me. I've been in the mood for another historical—definitely one to check out. Thanks!
