Wow-it's a double-flashbook in reading about the Norma Johnston books. I had a newborn baby in late June of 2005, so I was reading a whole lot of nothing at that point and never read the initial post.

THE KEEPING DAYS is one of my favorite books from childhood, one that I read again and again in middle and high school. I've never met another soul who has even heard of the books, let alone read them. When I returned to the classroom after an awful year as a school administrator, I found a lone book sitting on the shelf. It was a library discard of THE KEEPING DAYS, and I took it as a sign that I had made the right decision.

I don't know why I never pursued the other series. I must track them all down to read over vacation!
