Oh. We’re churning them out now. We’ve got a rhythm. We’ve got a beat. And now we’re going to start rip-roaring through our books. This week’s podcast episode (found here or on iTunes under “Kate n’ Fuse 8”) was a good one too. I decided to finally crack one of the Top Ten books that showed up in my Top 100 Picture Books Poll in the hopes of luring Kate into a conflict. I think The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle is a perfect 10 of a picture book. Does she agree? All that I can say for certain is that she definitely tries to poison me. If you’ve ever seen what Gerald the Elephant did when he had to try slop in I Really Like Slop by Mo Willems, you’ll know what to expect from this episode.
Here are some things mentioned in the podcast:
- Information on the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art and some of the elements I discuss about it.
- The Hunger of the Caterpillar by Mallory Ortberg on The Toast.
- In case you’re curious about Master of None, Season Two, here’s a New York Times piece that highlights the best moments.
- What IS Jeppson’s Malört Liqueur? I still don’t think that I know but this might help.
- And, of course, this:
Malört is perfect for washing down lutefisk and/or strömming! 😉
How is it with haggis?
