We discuss potential Caldecott winners on the podcast. I love all three of these books down to the cold cockles of my shriveled little heart. I seriously believe that each one of these books has a very good chance at some kind of Caldecott love in 2021.

For the very first time I have some strong opinions on the audiobooks (and their readers) of 2020. Here are the ones I thought knocked it out of the park.
In some ways, these are the books I’m the most excited about. Welcome to the end of 2020! And welcome to a list of truly wonderful books.
Each crop of yearly biographies runs the gamut from the uber famous to people who may not have ever even received an adult biography. I loved the sheer variety on display in 2020. Behold a sampling of some favorites.
Whether it’s plants that resemble toilets, seemingly psychic horses, deer eating pythons, or the sheer scope of the universe itself, there’s something in here for everyone.
Today’s list gets at those books that did a good job with the concept of telling the truth about our past.
Today’s books are marvelous amalgamations of imagination and reality. They may not be easy to characterize under a Dewey Decimal Number, but they could potentially help kids better understand the state of the world today.
Today I’m breaking down the Science Fiction titles of 2020 into Picture Books, Early Chapter Books, Middle Grade Fiction, and Comics. I wouldn’t call this a definitive list of any kind, but I truly enjoyed each and every last one of these titles.

Every year we see more and more graphic novels hit our shelves. And 2020 turned out to be a doozy of a year for the best.
