Dance Class Volume 5 To Russia With Love HC, $10.99 **Weekly Pick**

The Picks:

Adventures Of Dr McNinja Omnibus Volume 1 TP – The Doctor is in at Dark Horse! Dr. McNinja is back with an all new omnibus that collects his earliest exploits and features stories from the very beginnings of the webcomic. There are over 500 pages of strips filled with science, action, and outrageous comedy. I mean, how can anyone turn down a book that has a Doctor who is also a Ninja, who has a gorilla for a secretary, who punches out a velociraptor and high-fives a roast chicken? This massive tome will bring smiles to both kids and adults. This would be a great addition to any graphic novel collection.

Dance Class Volume 5 To Russia With Love HC – Papercutz prepares for another day in Dance Class. And it’s a busy class this time! Julie, Lucie, and Alia sign up for the new style, rock, and learn, among other things, that cute boys don’t always make good dance partners. Then it’s back to ballet, as the whole troupe heads to Russia to perform the Nutcracker. With jealous Carla intent on ruining the show, the girls are going to need some help to pull it off this time, and it comes from an unexpected place! Dance Class is a fun title that looks at life in and out of dance class. Tween to teen girls will be able to relate to best to the series as they’ve probably experienced a lot of what is portrayed in the one-page strips, but really, anyone who enjoys a good story and a laugh will be entertained.

  1. The Adventures of Dr. McNinja sounds awesome! I’ve asked our library to order a copy. How do you think it compares to something like Atomic Robo?

  2. Well, our awesome library did indeed order a copy of Dr. McNinja, and I’m enjoying reading it. It’s very funny and original. However, I have to disagree with your designation of “All Ages” for this title. The language and concepts in Issue 1/2 are a little rough, for example. Dark Horse rates the Omnibus as 10 and up, which I’m a little more comfortable with, though not completely.
