Changes at Disney: Down at the bottom of this Publishers Weekly article about the latest changes to Disney’s publishing program is this tidbit: They are launching Disney Remix, a new line of graphic novels based on classic Disney live-action films, and first title will be Operation Parent Trap by Victoria Jamieson (Roller Girl, When Stars are Scattered).

Manga 101: High school librarian Sara Smith has a manga buying guide for school librarians, with lists of “must buys,” “should buys,” and “good buys.” Each list has a selection of titles with a synopsis, age rating, number of volumes, and links to reviews. Check out her blog on the regular for new reviews of manga as well!

Brigid Alverson, the editor of the Good Comics for Kids blog, has been reading comics since she was 4. She has an MFA in printmaking and has worked as a book editor and a newspaper reporter; now she is assistant to the mayor of Melrose, Massachusetts. In addition to editing GC4K, she writes about comics and graphic novels at MangaBlog, SLJTeen, Publishers Weekly Comics World, Comic Book Resources, MTV Geek, and Good Brigid is married to a physicist and has two daughters in college, which is why she writes so much. She was a judge for the 2012 Eisner Awards.
