The Picks:

Bright Family Volume 1 GN – Andrews McMeel sets off to explore the multiverse in their new middle grade graphic novel series. The Brights are a family of overachievers—mostly. Mom is usually off-planet, piloting her jet pack and literally saving the world, while Dad is holed up in his laboratory figuring out interdimensional travel, and 12-year-old Nia is trying to win every robotics competition to prove, mostly to herself, that she belongs in this super genius family. Meanwhile, younger brother Jayden is trying to avoid doing his homework so he has more time to daydream about kaiju and designing giant robots. But when an accident in the lab sends Mom and Dad through a dimensional portal to who-knows-where, it’s up to Nia and Jayden, along with Dusty, their robot nanny, to find their parents and bring them home. But with a multiverse to search, where could they possibly be? Middle grade readers will enjoy following the Brights as they learn how to be a real family!

Barnstormers Volume 1 GN – Insight Kids takes off on mysterious adventures in their new graphic novel series. It’s 1928, and pilots from the Great War are looking for action and adventure. Roscoe Adams and his wingman Clyde Turner are the Barnstormers, pilots who perform stunts and give rides to earn a living. But when giant occult monsters escape the conflicts of the Great War, the two pilots become adventurers, monster hunters and hired guns. With evil and danger looming on the horizon, these heroes embark on a mission to save the country from giant monsters as well as taking out the cult of sorcerers who unleashed them in the first place! With plenty of monster-fighting action, this new series of daredevil antics and adventure will have lots of appeal to middle-grade readers!
