Legendary Comics YA, the Legendary Comics imprint for young adult works, will publish Enola Holmes: Mycroft’s Dangerous Game on August 23, 2022. Mickey George writes and Giorgia Sposito illustrates it. The cover shown above is by Cat Staggs.

The graphic novel bridges between the previous movie, starring Millie Bobby Brown, and the sequel film, currently filming. Henry Cavill co-stars as Enola’s older brother, Sherlock.

Enola, variously described as a “gifted super-sleuth” and “rebellious teen sister”, faces a new mystery in Enola Holmes: Mycroft’s Dangerous Game. Anarchists abduct her oldest brother Mycroft (Sam Claflin), and Enola sets out to rescue him. She’s assisted by Lord Tewkesbury (played by Louis Partridge in the first film) and Shag, a young boy from the streets, in “unravel[ing] a web of mystery that takes her deep into the London underground as she tries to foil the anarchists’ nefarious plot!”

Nancy Springer provided the new story for this original graphic novel. She authored the Enola Holmes novels that inspired the Netflix movie. The six-book series continued earlier this year with a new, seventh novel, Enola Holmes and the Black Barouche. Springer is included in the graphic novel in a cameo appearance.

“We are so excited to expand Enola’s world and story with an exciting new adventure in our graphic novel from this extremely talented creative team,” said Nikita Kannekanti, Legendary Comics’ Senior Editor. “Nancy has come up with a really fun story with some charming new characters and some returning familiar faces. I hope fans will enjoy solving the mystery with Enola!”

The first Enola Holmes film was immensely successful, with an estimated 77 milion households starting the film during its first four weeks in release.

Enola previously appeared in three graphic novels translated and released by IDW. Serena Blasco adapted the Springer novels, and the comics were originally published in French. The first, The Case of the Missing Marquess, was released in English in 2018. The fourth through sixth books of that series were made into comics as well, but they have not been translated.
