17 for Spring: Mock Newbery Suggestions So Far

April suggestions are all in, and we’ve got an interesting list building so far. Early leaders include two novels in verse (STARFISH and RED, WHITE, AND WHOLE), an illustrated historical narrative (UNSPEAKABLE), a new title in a popular series (JUST LIKE THAT), and one that combines verse, prose, and descriptions of artifacts (AMBER AND CLAY). And that’s just the top five.

Guidelines for how suggestions work can be found in this earlier post. We will open up suggestions again on the first Monday of May. Here’s the updated list of suggestions:
