Pathfinder swap?

After years of creating web-based pathfinders, it occurred to me that I wasn’t the only one out there doing this work.  As a profession, we continue to reinvent wheels when we could instead build on each others’ best work, discover new resources more quickly, and share models of effective practice.

A number of us are already sharing our websites through School Library Websites.

So how about we start a community to share another elemental part of our online library practice, our pathfinders?

I just posted the Pathfinder Swap Wiki as a sharing space, a community.

Please help me grow this platform with your links to own best pathfinders.  And, if you are a library educator, feel free to your students’ work.

The PathfinderSwap portal is intended to be platform agnostic.  I am hoping we collect models of pathfinders as PageFlakes, NetVibes, LibGuides, wikis, blogs, Google Sites and more.

And don’t feel limited to links.  When it makes sense, embed like crazy!  Include your video guides, posters, and widgets of all sorts.

  1. This is such a great idea! I’m anxious to share and borrow. Hmmmm…how will it be organized?

  2. Joyce, this is such a wonderful idea. I have often thought that librarians should be creating more repositories for sharing our own best practices and resources. I agree we should not waste time reinventing the wheel…can you imagine the power of all the world’s librarians gathering their resources and best practices together?
