Teach with Movies is now free!
TeachWithMovies offers access to more than 350 lesson plans and learning guides for movies and films.
I’ve long been a big fan of reading and studying movies. I’ve been a fan of this site’s rich curricular materials for many years.
I just discovered that I do not need to re-subscribe.
The site is now available for free (though it will now host unobtrusive advertising and encourage voluntary donations).
Beginning with just a handful of Learning Guides in 1998, TeachWithMovies.org has grown to encompass more than 390 Learning Guides and lesson plans, as well as articles on using movies to further education. Through word of mouth, the search engines, and a little press coverage (including the LA Times and USA Today), usage on the site has ballooned.
TeachWithMovies may be browsed/searched alphabetically, or by age, subject, a variety of 10 best lists.
You’ll want to share the big TWM news with any teachers who include media analysis in their programs, use film in the classroom, or assign film as an element of flipped learning experiences.
