I see\u00a0serious potential for this free, intuitive, open-ended tool to encourage creativity across a wide range of ages, from pre-school to adult!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/zSfk_nPJV58\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-DzigMy2wY4Y\/Wi3S3kkvHLI\/AAAAAAABMBk\/maQVsbq7FjQtUrMNnQ7J-8_bF7-8sK4KQCLcBGAs\/s200\/puppet%2Bmaster%2Bicon.PNG\" alt=\"\" width=\"198\" height=\"200\" border=\"0\" \/>PuppetMaster<\/a>\u00a0allows children to animate anything and to record their action and sound to create movies. It encourages the creation of visual art in any medium and it encourages active storytelling and sharing. And the learning curve is tiny!<\/p>\n<p>Kids simply open the app, select or import a background and a character and narrate as they move their characters around.\u00a0Because it is designed for elementary, children do not need to set up accounts. Their creations are saved to the camera roll on either their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/puppetmaster\/id438080891?platform=iphone&amp;preserveScrollPosition=true#platform\/iphone\">iPhone\u00a0<\/a>or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/puppetmaster\/id438080891?platform=ipad&amp;preserveScrollPosition=true#platform\/ipad\">iPad<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\">\n<p>What can you animate?\u00a0 You may choose to\u00a0work with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/zSfk_nPJV58\">PuppetMaster\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0available characters and backgrounds. Or you can import your own photos or drawings as background settings. As for your characters, you can animate your own drawings or collages or clay sculpture, or your photos of toys, stuffed animals, pets, historical or fictional people, yourself, your friends or your family. You can mix and match your own creations with the puppets and background art that comes with the app.<\/p>\n<p>Then bring your characters to life by either moving them around with your fingers on your iPad or by physically acting them out on the screen while you narrate or include music and sounds. In the library or classroom, I can see using it to explore perspective and empathy in fiction, for sharing\u00a0biographical\u00a0narrative, for retelling historical events,\u00a0 for reflecting on work, for sharing original stories. It is also perfect for creative fun at home on a rainy\/snowy day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/zSfk_nPJV58\">PuppetMaster<\/a>\u00a0was developed by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.michalfinegold.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/finegoldCV.pdf\">Michal Finegold<\/a>, a programmer, and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm4098620\/\">computer animation professiona<\/a>l with a visual arts background, who is also the mom of a two-year-old little girl. The lesson plan and art instruction library will grow.\u00a0Michal hopes to add\u00a0props, special effects, music and titles and to grow the background and character libraries. She is also planning to enable users to animate backgrounds, animate multiple puppets together and include live action in their productions.
