I’ll Meet You Down In Atlantic City
The New Jersey Library Association Conference is in Atlantic City this year, and I’ll be on two panels!
The conference is June 4, 5, and 6th.
The Secret Life of an Awards Committee Member:
Ever wondered about the inner workings of ALSC and YALSA Book Award Committees? Ever thought of participating, yourself? Get the scoop with a panel of New Jersey librarians who have served on the Printz, Nonfiction, Caldecott and Schneider Family Book Award Committees. We can’t promise intimate details (like nominations that didn’t make the final cut or drama-filled vote tallies), but we WILL tell you all you need to know about the nominating, discussing & voting processes, and how to get your name on the ballot
Best of Best Fiction for Young Adults:
In a fast-paced presentation, designed to guide you in the most effect readers’ advisory possible, Sharon Rawlins and Liz Burns will booktalk their top favorites among YALSA’s 2012 Best Fiction for Young Adults winners.
