Inside The Yarn

What is Bookshop?

Colby: During this pandemic, I’ve been thinking a lot about supporting small businesses. When I saw a lot of book creators talking about Bookshop, I got curious. It is pretty darn easy to purchase books from Amazon, but I know that the money I spend with them doesn’t support my community. Learning that Bookshop sends a portion of their sales to independent bookshops seemed cool. Wanting to learn more about the site, I reached out them on their website. Bookshop’s Partnerships Manager, Sarah High got back to me. We set up a time to chat, and our conversation can be found in the latest episode of The Yarn.

I’m not going to tell you how you should spend your money, but my hope is that this episode will make you think about where you purchase books.

In the episode I talk about Brain Lair Books, and their list of anti-racist books on Bookshop. Be sure to check out the list by clicking on the image below.
