Wikispaces goes to college, gets even better, and stays FREE!

At our state edtech conference last week (PETE&C), our favorite wiki guys, Adam Frey and James Byers, hinted about some exciting upcoming news.

They followed up this evening with this email sharing that they are extending their most generous free wikis for education policy to our colleagues at the university.

Adam writes:

Starting this month, we are offering free, ad-free, fully featured wikis to higher education, as well as extending our free wiki program for K-12.

• Our wikis for education are completely private, have no advertising on them, are fully featured, and never expire. And teachers are welcome to sign up for as many of them as they like.
• The features included in our education wikis usually cost $50 per year but are completely free when used for K-12 or higher education.
• We have given away over 980,000 free wikis for education so far (I own a good chunk of those!), and are committed to giving away at least 2,000,000 in total.

Adam also promises that over the next year or so, the development and release of tools and features most requested by devoted Wikispaces users, as well as a few others that Adam and James think will be really cool.
