The unConference @ AASL (National Standards edition) Help us get ready now!
If you are planning to join our tribe in Phoenix, please consider attending the unConference on Thursday night, November 9th. As a member of the AASL Implementation Task Force, I invite you to come and learn with us from 9:00 PM till midnight in a kind of meet and greet with our new National Standards.
Here’s the official session description:
Engage with the new standards and each other in this high-energy, participatory event. We’ll explore the shared foundations in AASL’s new National School Library Standards using a World Café conversation protocol, as we ask big questions, develop ideas for implementation, and share collective discoveries.
Here’s the detailed line-up:
- World Café: To build our collective knowledge of our new National Standards, we’ll engage in dynamic, networked conversations facilitated by members of the National Standards Implementation Task Force.
- unConference conversations: Your call! We’ll explore the topics closest to your hearts!
- IGNITE presentations: fast-paced, brief and compelling shares by fabulous presenters (TBA)
- AASLStandardsSmackdown: connect your favorite learning tools and strategies to our Domains and Shared Foundations and run up to the mic to share them with passion!
In the week to come, help us get ready in two ways:
- Please begin to share ideas for unConf conversations on this AnswerGarden Topic Brainstorm (Be brief. You have only 40 characters for this!)
- Please get our AASLStandardsSmackdown going by adding a slide or two and grabbing one or more of the icons on Slide 2 (Domains) and Slide 3 (Shared Foundations) to your ideas to connect them to our Shared Foundations.
Please help spread the word. Repost. Tweet. Share using #AASL17 #AASLStandards #AASLunConf
Can’t Make It to the AASL Conference? No worries. The Social Media Task Force has you covered. You can be a #NOTATAASL Virtual Attendee! Much more on that excitement to come in an upcoming post!
