Library of Congress Virtual Tour App
The Library of Congress, recently launched a virtual tour app, mirroring its fabulous Library of Congress Experience, an award-winning group of exhibitions and features that has drawn record numbers of visitors.
I had the privilege of visiting the interactive exhibit live earlier this summer as a member of the TPS Mentor program cohort. Granted, it’s not the same as being there and feeling as if I were turning the pages of seriously old and famous documents and enlarging maps. But, if I were visiting with students, it would have been sweet to have this app, with its many images and audio along as we wandered.

The app will also be a helpful for teachers interested in integrating primary sources into instruction even if they can’t get to DC.
For an even richer learning experience, don’t miss myLOC.gov, especially the Teacher and Student page, and of course, the very amazing LOC Teachers site, with its wealth of curricular content! More on these in future posts.
