Meme: Designing the new action figure
I know the Nancy Pearl Library Action Figure is meant to be tongue in cheek. I have three in my office–representing both the deluxe and basic variety.
I absolutely admire Nancy and her work, but after years of watching visitors try her amazing push-button shushing action, the joke’s worn thin.
I know that the folks at Gale hosted their own library superhero contest, but I thought, perhaps, we should beat them to the new prototype, a prototype that might be school library specific.
So how about this National Library Week, we create a gallery of TL superhero avatars and consider their image and their superpowers?
In keeping with my fierceness campaign, I’ll get the ball rolling with an image I created last month for a workshop.
What would your version look like?
Create it. Share it on Flickr with the hashtag #tlactionfigures. Share in your comments and I will gather them all together in a beautiful and powerful gallery.
Here’s a pathfinder of avatar options that might get you started.
