Free school library advocacy packs from Bound to Stay Bound

ALA is offering free school library advocacy packs.Sponsored by Bound to Stay Bound Books (BTSB), the packs contain tools to spread the word about the many ways school librarians are transforming teaching and learning. They include 25 copies of a limited print edition of the digital magazine supplement AASL produced in collaboration with American Libraries, as well as an assortment of brochures from AASL’s School Library Programs Improve Student Learning advocacy series.

While the packs are fabulous to share with policymakers, administrators, teachers and parents, if you’d like a peek at the American Libraries supplement before you order, it is separately available as a downloadable PDF and it contains the following articles and extras:

• A guest editorial from ALA President Courtney Young, ALA Executive Director Keith Michael Fiels, AASL President Terri Grief and AASL Executive Director Sylvia Knight Norton titled “School Librarians: Leaders Transforming Teaching and Learning”;
• “’I’m an Expert’: School Libraries Build Enthusiastic Learners” and “Reimagining Advocacy for School Libraries” written by Barbara Stripling an AASL and ALA past president and assistant professor in the school of information studies at Syracuse University;
