So now that we have announced all our awesome judges, here are their assignments. Wish them luck!
2015 Brackets with Judges Revealed!
Vote for Your Favorite to Come Back from the Dead!

Worried about how your favorite is going to fare in this year’s Battle? Here’s your chance to help. Vote in the Undead Poll for the contender you most want to see in the final round.
The previously-eliminated contender that receives the most votes will be dug out of the grave to join the two other finalists in the final bout.
So vote for your favorite and then, by all means, scheme, lobby, tweet, rally the troops, and do whatever you can to get the vote out for your favorite. (Don’t forget what happened in 2010.)
The poll will be open until March 8th. So think carefully. Who do YOU want in the final round?
2015 Judge: Clare Vanderpool
Clare Vanderpool lives in Wichita, KS with her husband and four children. As a huge fan of March Madness, she was thrilled to be asked to participate in SLJ’s Battle of the Books because it combines two of her favorite things: brackets and books! Clare has been a life-long reader who has been known to read in unlikely places: dressing rooms, math class, long stoplights, church… oh, like you never. Her first book, Moon Over Manifest won the 2011 Newbery Medal and Navigating Early was named a Printz Honor book. Clare is diligently working on her next book and in case her editor is reading this, she is definitely not using Battle of the Books as a way to justify reading instead of writing.
2015 Judge: Cat Winters
Cat Winters was born and raised in Southern California, near Disneyland, which may explain her love of haunted mansions, bygone eras, and fantasylands. She received degrees in drama and English from the University of California, Irvine, and formerly worked in publishing. Her critically acclaimed debut novel, In the Shadow of Blackbirds, was named a 2014 Morris Award Finalist, a School Library Journal Best Book of 2013, a 2014 Best Fiction for Young Adults pick, and a 2013 Bram Stoker Award Nominee. Her second novel, The Cure for Dreaming, has been nominated for YALSA’s 2015 Best Fiction for Young Adults and the American Library Association’s 2015 Amelia Bloomer Project. Cat lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband and two kids.
2015 Judge: Elizabeth Wein
Elizabeth Wein is the highly opinionated author of Code Name Verity, which won the acclaimed Undead Vote in SLJ’s 2013 BoB. After Rose Under Fire’s ignominious BoB defeat in 2014, Elizabeth cunningly spent the year procrastinating to ensure she wouldn’t have a book eligible for combat in 2015. She is utterly delighted to be involved in the battle from the reviewer’s side, and looks forward to breaking her traditional politic authorly radio silence.
This Week’s Peanut Gallery

These Peanut Gallery posts are where we put up whatever we’ve found around the web responding to the latest BOB news. Be sure to let us know in the comments if we’ve missed yours and we will either add it here or put in our next Peanut Gallery post.
Thank you, TeachingBooks, for created a fabulous free list of multimedia instructional resources to help enhance the fun and reading of this year’s contenders including “everything from author name pronunciations to book trailers and discussion guides. Plus lots of opportunities to hear from authors themselves via Meet-the-Author book readings and movies!”
The librarians at the Blue Ash branch of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County in Ohio have created some great BoB materials. Guess what — you can do the very same at your institutions!
