On library mashups
Don’t you just love it when we build on each others’ good work?
Here’s what happened. Jennifer LaGarde, aka Library Girl, inspired by the work of Carl Harvey, created her Are You Ready? poster/infographic.
Around the same time, a number of us discovered and were playing around with Thinglink. (I think I first discovered it on Richard Byrne’s Free Tech for Teachers.)
While many of us considered how we could use this new tool that gives photos new life with sound, voice, video, social, and other fun links, Donna Baumbach, aka Aunty Tech, got busy enlisting a few Twitter friends (@scsdmedia, @dsmacdonald, @dmcordell, @jane_librarian, @NikkiDRobertson), giving even more life to Jennifer’s new poster–annotating and enriching it with presentations, documents, and media from school library programs all over the country.
We are so much stronger when we share!
Darn it! This blog refuses to properly display the Thinglink enhancements. So please visit the poster on your own and explore all those glorious info dots there.
