What is a travel blog? | |

Where did TravelPod come from?
"In the early years of the Internet, I was backpacking across Europe and wanted to be able to keep in touch with all of my friends and family, in "real-time", to let then know where I was and what I was doing.
Doing this with expensive long-distance calls wasn’t an option, mail was too slow, and email just didn’t cut it. To make my life easier, I thought up, and built, a quick and dirty web site that let me login, upload some stories and email the link to the site to my friends. The site was an instant hit. Infact the feedback I received was so good that when I returned, I decided to build a much more advanced and feature-rich online hosting system for my fellow travelers… with that, TravelPod was born. At the time, internet cafes were hard to come by, some even said that TravelPod was "ahead of it’s time", but now days, you can hardly spit without hitting an internet terminal of some kind just about anywhere around the world which makes using TravelPod easy, fast and tons of fun! Sign up today and see for yourself! Happy trails! |

What is an enhanced membership?
The free standard membership includes all the features you are most likely to need. However, you can purchase an enhanced membership for $39.95 USD / year that provides two additional features:
•Make your travel blog private. Why do we charge for these features? TravelPod is funded primarily through on-lne advertising. Many visitors from around the world come to read your stories and view your photos, and advertisers pay us to show ads to these people. If you make your travel blog private and ad-free, then we cannot make ad revenue from you, so we must charge you money. Unfortunately, servers, storage, and bandwidth are not free. To get an enhanced membership, first join for free. Once logged in, there is a link in your profile that allows you to upgrade your account. |
|
What happens to my private travel blog after my enhanced membership expires?
To keep your private travel blogs safe, when your enhanced membership expires, your private travel blogs will be locked.
You won’t lose any information at all but your guests will be shown a message saying that your enhanced membership is expired and they won’t be able to login until you renew. |
|
That’s great, but how do I find Internet access terminals while traveling?
These days, it’s hard to find a city which doesn’t offer Internet access to visitors pretty much anywhere around the world.
Whether it’s a remote region of Tibet or Machu Picchu, a PC connected to the Internet is never further than a stone’s throw away. You can use this database to make note of access terminals in the locations where you will be traveling. |
|
How long will my travel blog stay online for?
TravelPod does not remove travel blogs from the site unless they violate the content policy ( offensive material is removed ). TravelPod does not have a "time-limit" for hosted travel blogs.
Years after your trip is over you’ll still be able to visit your travel blog to take a brief trip down memory lane. |
