2014 Judge: Joseph Bruchac
An award-winning author of over 120 books, a professional storyteller and a member of the Abenaki Indian nation, Joseph Bruchac says that one of the most important lessons he’s learned from Native traditions is that the best stories are both interesting and instructive. When you enjoy a story you’ll want to remember it. So, whether it’s a picture book for young readers or a YA novel such as KILLER OF ENEMIES, you’ll find that mix of entertainment and a subtle underlay of teaching in everything he writes.
