Databases: making the case

Brenda Boyer and I are getting ready for our edWeb webinar on use of subscription databases.  In preparation, we created an infographic you may find useful in promoting databases with teachers and students. Please feel free to use and embed it if you find it helpful.

Top reasons to use databases from Joyce Valenza

During our session, and before, we also hope to compile a dream database wishlist.  Please join us on this Padlet and share the three most important database features you’d like to see for your learners.  What do you most value?  What been missing?

We’d love for you to join us next Tuesday at 4PM Eastern.

Prepping for this new presentation got me thinking about the last database workshop I did way back in 2009 when my daughter Emily helped me with this little song parody for an SLJ Summit panel.   Hope you enjoy a little blast from the past.

  1. I always try to remind teachers that it’s less work when they don’t have to worry about where students are getting their information and students often times don’t have to make their own citations.

Love this info graphic — thank you. Will use it.

This is great. I’m going to use it in a presentation to teachers this week. Thank you!
